I had that this dream after contemplating the following: Did Jesus regard the greatest spiritual danger as committing evil—or becoming so convinced of one’s own righteousness that one could no longer recognize evil within oneself? Now the dream. I came into this room and there was this child laying on this bed with feet toward headboard or wall with a large mirror. As I approached I saw something next to the child toward the feet that looked like an evil demon. I was trying to awaken the child and then saw demons on both side of its head while I was also seeing a round ball being thrown up around the feet. I was frozen in fear at this state
Your dream presents a rich tapestry of symbols and themes, potentially reflecting your contemplations on spiritual danger, self-righteousness, and the nature of evil. Here's a detailed interpretation:
The room often symbolizes a private space within your psyche where profound aspects of your consciousness reside. The presence of a child suggests innocence, vulnerability, and potential. It could represent the pure, uncorrupted part of yourself or a new aspect of your life that needs attention and protection.
The child's unusual position with feet towards the headboard or wall and a large mirror behind them is significant. This unconventional orientation might suggest a reversal or questioning of usual beliefs and perceptions. The mirror could symbolize self-reflection, suggesting the need to look at or confront your inner self honestly.
The demons appearing next to the child can represent perceived threats, fears, or the 'evils' you believe exist within or around you. In the context of your contemplation, they could symbolize the dangers of recognizing external evil while potentially ignoring inner moral fallacies or self-deception.
Your effort to awaken the child reveals a desire to protect innocence and bring awareness or change. This can be seen as a call to consciousness to alert that part of your psyche that is naive or unaware of these lurking dangers.
The position of the demons at the child's head suggests an invasion or crisis of thought and consciousness. This could symbolize the internal struggle between recognizing evil in yourself versus externalizing blame to maintain self-righteousness.
The ball being thrown could symbolize distractions, cycles, or the continuous nature of thought patterns. It indicates how easily attention can be diverted by repetitive or trivial matters rather than confronting profound personal issues.
Your paralysis in the dream represents feelings of helplessness or being overwhelmed by the confrontation of these ideas and fears. It suggests fear rooted in the challenge of shifting perceptions regarding righteousness and moral integrity.
Your dream reflects on themes of innocence, protection, introspection, and the confrontation with perceived versus internalized evil. There's a significant emphasis on recognizing how self-righteousness can blind one from seeing one's flaws, symbolized by the demons and child. The spiritual journey often involves wrestling with the dichotomy of good and evil within and without, suggesting that true insight requires awareness and humility to discern these elements within oneself.
Reflecting further on how these themes resonate with your waking beliefs and experiences might provide additional personal insights.
